The doctor today said Corban might be home by the end of the week! Wouldn't that be amazing?

Corban came off the ventilator this morning! I'm so proud of him! He's still in a lot of pain, but he's a real trooper. Everybody was very impressed with him today. :)

Surgery Day
Surgery today at 2:00. PLEASE pray for our little man!
Later....
The Last Hurdle
Surgery is scheduled for Friday afternoon. It's the last hurdle, for now. PLEASE pray that #1) the surgeon wouldn't have any trouble doing what he needs to do, #2) that Corban would handle the anesthesia well, as well as being put back on the ventilator, #3) that he would come off the ventilator soon afterwards and #4) that he would heal quickly with no complications or infections. Holding my breath!
The G-tube and a Few Other Things
Well, today we finally decided to bite the bullet. It was a hard decision, but we've decided to go ahead and get the G-tube for Corban (along with a hernia repair and a few other things). It's that, or keep him in the NICU for another couple months until he learns how to eat on his own. But there's no guarantee that he will. So... surgery should be sometime this week. If all goes well, Corban could be home in just a couple weeks!
Desperately Wanting Him Home
Please pray that Corban will make drastic improvement with the bottle tomorrow morning. He hasn't been doing very well with his feeds. Been trying to decide if we should just opt for a G-tube instead of prolonging things even more. I'm not a fan of ANY surgical procedure (especially if it's optional), but he could come home sooner that way, and I desperately want him home! He is so interactive these days and ready to play. He smiles, coos and turns his head to look at me. It just kills me to walk out that door and leave him!
